How I changed my life for $4 per week

I know you may be wondering…How can someone change their life for just $4? 

As I look in retrospect…. I did just that and the change began for me in just about 7 months ago. 

Just as many others do in the beginning of a new year; I made a resolution to finally lose the weight this year especially before turning forty. 

 The transition began to happen for me at my local rec center. The cost was only $2 per class for an hour workout! The strength training class was offered 2 to 4 times per week with morning and evening sessions available. Boy did this take away my excuses! 

 The first class was tough physically, and a little intimidating mentally because it had been so long since I worked out. I was sweating profusely and mad at myself because I let my body get so out of shape! I felt even worse when I looked over and noticed the exercises didn’t seem to bother the athletic girls in the class! But I was determined to complete the hour. 

 I managed to get through the class and decided to show up for the next class. The more I showed up, the less daunting it became.  

 I started to develop a rapport and friendships with some of the women in the class. Before long… I not only showed up for myself- I felt like I was showing up for them. We participated in many exercises that  created a teamwork atmosphere and we encouraged each other through the process. The more I showed up for class, the easier it got. I began to see my body change and my clothes fit looser.  

These classes many years ago planted a seed of exercise in my life. Although, I was overweight and inexperienced; the more I participated my interest in exercise and becoming healthier grew. 

So, I encourage you to get started and start small! The little thing that you do consistently will grow into much!
